My name is Chris Rhorer and I am the owner of Advantage Solar LLC. I have many years combined experience in both the roofing and solar industries which is a unique combination.
I have lived in California all my life. Born and raised in Orange County playing for the Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa golf and hockey team until I graduated from there in 2003. Played hockey for the University of San Diego and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Theology. Lived in San Jose from 2012 to 2020. I’ve lived all over this state. And have now decided to plant my permanent home back in Orange County.
No matter where I lived in California I never had a choice in who my utility was. This infuriated me as I’m a big believer in free market competition and customer choice. BECAUSE they are a monopoly and because the utilities in California are publicly traded their priorities are to the shareholders first and secondly to the customers. I chose to enter the solar industry and disrupt the grid.
As I worked for different solar companies over the years I realized some can only provide specific services and this omits a large percentage of the marketplace because every single customer’s situation is a little different. A customer could want a different program than cash purchase. A customer might have a particular roof that most solar companies would turn away from because they don’t have the expertise to install on. This made me realize how very limited solar companies are in roofing knowledge which is very necessary as it serves as the foundation for your solar system.
I provide a one stop shop for every solar customer imaginable. This means providing a solar service for all different roof types, offering all the different solar options from the top financial institutions available. No matter where you live in California you are paying anywhere between double to triple the national average for electricity from the grid. My goal is to help facilitate your electrical costs. It’s no secret that Californians pay the most out of any other state citizen in basic costs and taxes.
